With a tip o' the hat to Ben Langhinrichs, here's a real customer-focused quote on the whole Microsoft "Yukon" slipping issue:

"We never guaranteed that buying Software Assurance would get you a product upgrade," said Tom Rizzo, director of product management for SQL Server at Microsoft. "If (customers) don't think there is value in Software Assurance, we don't require you to buy it."
Uh huh.
For all the "software slipping is non-news" posturing, this one sure is generating a lot of ink. (freudian typo: originally typed as "lot o fink" ;))
