I just sent out informal e-mail notification to the 83 speakers in the Lotusphere 2005 infrastructure track that their sessions have been approved.  There are 51 sessions approved in the track, up from 45 in 2004.  Over 150 session abstracts were submitted, for this track alone -- a record.

So what's the actual content in the track?  Well, I need to wait for legal and branding people to go through the session titles before I can announce them... but

  • A significant increase in the number of sessions on Notes/Domino.  This not only includes a plethora of Notes/Domino 7 content, but it also includes sessions on "here and now" stuff like leveraging AdminP, Linux, and TCO reduction.
  • A few sessions that are more detail-oriented have been accepted, including one on the update rooms&resources template for Domino 7, a session on Domino Unified Communications Services, and of course, spam.
  • The remaining content is spread across the Domino platform products (IM, web conferencing, Team Workplace, Document Manager), WebSphere Portal, and IBM Workplace.
  • There are a few "none of the above" sessions, including a new Wes Morgan presentation on "network design for collaboration", a session on DB2 Commonstore, and one going into detail on Workplace Services Express.
As I said earlier today, I'm pretty jazzed about the content throughout the Lotusphere 2005 agenda.  As more of the details are published in the next few days, watch for more blog entries highlighting the highlights (or something like that).

    Ed,

I'm sure you'll see the Turtle's posting { Link } but it's a good idea worth repeating - please when the sessions are posted can they be an RSS feed.

It is an excellent idea. If IBM doesn't do it, I'm sure I'll add it to our sessions db, for which this will be the fifth year I think (unless IBM really does that properly this year and I am relieved of the effort)

Please, IBM, PLEASE, do it 'properly' as Ben suggests. We've been asking for years.....

Since the squeaky wheel gets the grease, I'll chime in with the same request...
