Blogging from Notes 7 on my Mac...
September 5 2006
The motherboard on my Thinkpad is suffering a wee bit of indigestion this morning...which gives me the excuse I needed to start loading up Notes 7.0.2 (early beta) on my (daughter's) iMac. I'll have more to report on this over the next few days, I think...

Hi Ed,
Is/will the beta be available to business partners ? I miss the Notes client on my new Mac.

Hi Ed,
Really looking forward to this release. I thought you might be interested to know that I've just finished testing the Notes R7.0 Designer under Mac OS X using the newly released beta of CrossOver Office Mac. It's a bit weird to see it running, but it does work.
You can check out the screenshots here:

@4 - Very nice Steve. That would make an excellent SnTT article.

How's it going Ed?
I need to find a way to justify the purchase of a 24" iMac, and testing/demo'ing/running 7.0.2 might just be the answer ;-)

How did the Macintosh experiment work out? Were you able to do everything you needed from a Mac (email, notes databases, etc.)? And what did you use to access the VPN? I've heard of success stories with running Windows under Parallels and running stuff that way, but I'm interested in finding out if there is a native OS X way to run everything I need.

Geez, it's been five days, people!
There's already a newer build available for internal use, and well, I'm halfway around the world from my Mac.
My experience so far:
- Three SPRs, all of which were reproduced
- Two random crashes
- Otherwise it's all working very well. I've been running it nonstop whilst at home, and using it as my primary blogging/RSS-reading machine.
I won't get a chance to report more until after I'm back in the US.
@7 Fuat, send me an internal mail and I'll send you the links to the VPN software that is being used for the IBM network from the Mac.

I hope we can expect to hear from both of you about this - both of any differences and what its like to lose one's PC to Dad! :<)
