Building Notes Traveler references
December 9 2009
It's really been great to see a number of blog entries since we shipped Notes/Domino 8.5.1 that talk about how Lotus Notes Traveler is easy to deploy, use, and "just works". Thank you Paul, Declan, Andy and many others.
Now that Notes Traveler 8.5.1 has been out for a couple of months, my team is looking for some feedback on your use of Traveler. We hear a lot about the iPhone implementation, but less about those using Notes Traveler and other devices. Jan Kenney has posted three easy questions on Notes Traveler + Nokia on the developerWorks forum. If you are using Notes Traveler with Nokia, we'd love to hear from you about your use. You can either post a response to her question or email her (her email address is on the posting).
We'll survey similar data for other devices etc. in the near future.

I'm thinking about buying a new phone from Sprint with the best name ever: the "Lotus" by LG.
Sounds like a great candidate to test out Traveler in my real work environment (not WidgetRacing.com).

Well, chrome. I just read IBM's press release { Link } and the Lotus phone isn't listed.
On the other hand, Nokia is now offering a model with Traveler pre-installed.
Excellent!

I have so far installed it for customers on the iphone, Nokia E71 and my own ipod touch.
Installing Traveler and using it on the iphone/touch is a breeze and nice to use. On the Nokia it's almost as simple to install and use, has a blackberry feel to it.
Whilst Lotus may not want to step on the shoes of RIM etc, they Traveler product could turn out to be very successful and it will be interesting to see how it develops with each release.

I use traveler on 3 different windows mobile devices without any issue. A colleague of mines use it on iPhone with the same "all is fine" feeling.
We also made it works on an android device with TouchDown. With this setup, we had some doublons generated when performing a usb sync.

We use Traveler on all 3 platforms mainly because we can, and should, to make sure we understand the technology across the board but also because our users want to make different phone choices. Most are very pro their own choice, particularly the iPhone and Nokia users I must say.

We are testing lotus traveler for basic functionalty on all the three platforms (windows mobile, symbian and iphone)
The things i come across while using traveler on three platform is:
Not the ability of accepting meeting invitations on iphone.
Not been able to see the attendees of a meeting with symbian. (nokia E75)
When opening a memo on the symbian device not been able to use the option menu to for example reply to a mail (when selecting the option menu you go back to the inbox)However from the inbox you can select the option menu and reply to a memo.

"Not the ability of accepting meeting invitations on iphone." It would be nice to see invitations even in the app 'calendar' in 'invitations' and of course accepting them from calendar and via mail app, too. Just as easy as we known it from our good old Notes ;-)

Traveler works great so far. Tried with WinMo and iphone. Any way to monitor for bad logins with traveler? I would like to get notified when a bad login occurs so I know if someone is trying to sync up a device that shouldn't be on my network. Also would be nice if we could setup email alerts for when a new device is added.

8.5.1 Traveler worked great on iPhones and WM devices when accessing a server via HTTP. This weekend I upgraded the server to SSL. Had to reinstall the profile on the iPhones, "reboot" them and they worked fine again. The WM device still cannot connect. I have a call into IBM...

Been using traveler since it came out, as have clients, mostly WMD. Just put it on my new HTC Tilt2, it just works and is fast, especially on a 3G network. And my contacts list is near 5,000.
