Plan is 7.0.2, along with Notes 7 for Mac.

Estimate for release date? Notes.net still only has 7.0.1 for February. I'm guessing June/July??

The LS keynote demo'd the Mac client in the "Notes and Domino Now" section but the Mac client is not now; it is this summer. The keynote set the expectation of "Now" instead of "Soon", so I am a bit disappointed with the timing. However I am really pleased that it is being done.
I am so looking forward to this release; it looks awesome.

@4 Ken, you'll see the difference between "Notes and Domino now" and "Notes and Domino futures" shortly. "Now" was meant to convey 2006 deliverables.

Good stuff, Ed! Two questions though:
1) Does it have the rich text editor?
2) Anything on Safari? (I'm guessing not, otherwise you'd have said so!)
Cheers,
- Mike

@6 Yes, rich text editor, but no, no Safari support at this time. My understanding is that this is still an issue around Safari's support for some of the coding techniques used in DWA.

@5 Ed, That is completely understandable. Like I said, I am really excited by what I have seen so far....

I can just see telling the wife I'll do something "Now" and meaning I'll get to it in the next 49 weeks. :)

Interesting, but it has been functional ever since the release of 7.0. At least I wasn't able to find any real limitations. Though, I'm sure it was an "unofficial" support.

@10 acknowledged...this is "official" support and we make sure that it's 100% functional

Don't recall the Rich Text Editor being there on 7.0. Might be wrong about that though.
Cheers,

Will the scroll wheel finally work in Notes 7 Mac?

@9, when I moved to South Africa, I had people tell me "I'll be there now" and show up an hour later.
"Now" is a subjective term depending on where it's used. I've even heard the statement "I'll be there now... not now now, but just now" to mean 15 minutes or so.
Yeah, it confused me too.

@14 - I worked in a Chemist shop (drugstore) and customers used to drop off their prescription and say "i'll pick it up just now". Always confused me too...

Interesting note: when accessing the Lotusphere Online site from Safari, I get the expected warning message that the browser is not supported, but when I "try anyway" I get a rewritten URL with "&ui=inotes_safari" appended to it, so there is obviously some effort being spent to support the browser. It is non-functional, however (no messages display in my inbox), but there is some effort being done.

@16
Ed's reply (see 7) indicates that work was done on gettng this on Safari, but that they ran into some problems. So no surprise that you've found this.
Cheers,

At Virgin Atlantic we have over 5000 cabin crew and pilot email accounts on an independent (non-Louts, non-Microsoft) web-based email system. A lof ot them use Macs and we can't migrate them to Domino Web Access until support for Mac is firmly in place. Our office staff use Lotus client. There is a possibility that the whole lot will get migrated to Exchange/Outlook/Outlook Web Access rather than settle everyone on Domino, just because of this lack of Mac access. Would be keen to see more concrete news out of Lotus on the availability of Mac browser support for DWA.

Martin, I sent you mail, but to all -- Domino Web Access will be supported on Mac/Firefox in Domino 7.0.2, shipping in September 2006.

My company uses domino lotus notes remote mail.
I can access my account using windows version of Firefox but not the mac version.
A coleague says she can access using safari. I have tried so many configerations without success.
I get the log in screen but after being redirected both safari and firefox browsers say they cannot find the server

I can open DWA using Firefox 2.0 for Mac inso far as it allows me to open and read e-mails, though I hit a brick wall as soon as I try to Reply To or Compose and Send a new e-mail. Not good. Safari allows me to reply, but the layout is horrible.

Good news. When will it ship?
