For this week and the next three, my good friend and colleague Colleen Hayes is part of the IBM Service Corps initiative. She is in the Philippines for her assignment, and is blogging on ibm.com for the duration. While I am extremely frustrated that the site requires you to register in order to comment (and of course, it is a separate registration from other parts of ibm.com), at least the reading is wide open :-) Some of you in the Lotus community will recognize the Service Corps and recall a previous participant from the Lotus division...Erica Topolski had an incredible adventure in Ghana last year. Another Colleen from within the Lotus team, Colleen Inches, is in Tanzania now (fixed) on this program, too.

Hi Ed, Another Loti will be joining the group in the near future. I will be part of a team working in South Africa in later June and early July. We are waiting to hear about the specifics of the assignment. More details to follow as they develop. It is nice to see so many Lotus people participating in this important program at IBM.

Ed - This is indeed an incredible adventure! I am starting my second week in Tanzania working with the African Wildlife Foundation. My colleague, Hiroya and I are assessing the impact HIV/AIDS is having on the Maasai community. Talk about a departure from your day job!
