Gartner: IBM Begins to Reinvent Itself at Lotusphere 2007
January 30 2007
It appears that the success of Lotusphere 2007 is resonating with Gartner, which is good news considering that they seem to have been relatively pessimistic for the last few months...
IBM has addressed many of the lingering questions about Lotus's future direction and managed to inject a level of excitement in a product line that many consider moribund. During 2007, we will watch for signs that IBM has effectively executed on its plans and expanded rapidly into other delivery and business models.Link: Gartner: IBM Begins to Reinvent Itself at Lotusphere 2007 >

From the Gartner Analysis: "The relationship of Quickr to existing products like Domino Document Manager, DB2 Content Manager and new document-oriented clients remains murky."
We are also waiting for clearer roadmap around this. Especially around the relationships to DB2 offerings for Content and Document management, and integration possibilities. We got 4 different answers around the plan for and how DB2 Content Manager would integrate with Quickr.
There was a session (INV114) where the message seemed promising, but not enough. It was indicated that there would be related announcements around May - so we wait; again.
Still; the clarity in the messages around the traditional Lotus products where appreciated.

Is anyone going to point out the glaring error in the news analysis at the bottom of the page?
All Notes users will get the Quickr Personal Edition for free. The current licensees of Quickplace will get Quickr Enterprise Edition.

Not very surprising in light of the clarity of the message from the opening through the closing sessions, from what I gathered from every blog and comment I have read since.
