"Geekdinner" in Sydney, 20 July!

OK, I'm making an executive decision....
Sydney-siders (and visiting IBMers and partners) are hereby invited to
a "Geekdinner", Wednesday night, 20 July, in Sydney at the Slip
Inn, 111 Sussex Street (as
if you need the address!). I am not sure what a good time to call
this for is -- 7 PM? I intend to be hanging out in the "Slip
Bar" section (yummy Thai food).
Long, long ago, Slip Inn was a favoured lunch and after work spot for Loti,
as the Lotus office was a block or so away. Obviously the IBM digs
at St. Leonards are not exactly close by, but my colleagues will be spread
all over Sydney next week for the Software Expo, anyway.
As with other "Geekdinners" that bloggers seem to be putting
together, this is a pay-your-own kind of evening. At least one round
of VB (or Crown Lager, or anything but Foster's -- see, I know!) will be
on me, though. I owe Sydney at least that much.
If you are thinking of attending, either leave me a comment here or e-mail
me ed_brill@us.ibm.com . I'll give my cell phone number to a few
of you, just to keep me honest all week and help coordinate. Also,
if Slip Inn might not work for some reason (traffic, too busy on Wednesdays,
whatever), let me know, and we can come up with a "Plan B".
Leaving in less than 24 hours....

When I lived there I remember getting hassled for ordering a XXXX or VB in NSW - it was Tooheys country...
Many happy nights with beer and steaks at the the Duke Of Gloucester at Clovelly, next to Coogee Beach. You order at the counter and they hand you a beer and a plate of raw meat. The grills and Salad Bar are out back. Great place if you have a chance...
