Gregg Eldred: Good job, IBM

September 29 2005

Gregg Eldred recommends you take your boss to a Notes/Domino 7 Live event...and/or Lotusphere...

Make plans NOW to attend one of these events. And don't just you go, Mr. Domino Administrator or Ms. Domino Developer. TAKE YOUR MANAGER. It is an eye opening experience. Trust me on this. Second, it seems to me, that the work that the IBM/Lotus is doing on getting the word out, does work, with the proper audience. Funny, how that works, huh? Next, take the time to read up on Workplace. You may not be asked about it now, but it sure looks like the message is getting out to the elusive decision makers.

Thanks for noticing, Ed. The work that you and your team is doing is getting noticed by the right people and it is making an impact. While it may not be as flashy as a billboard/tv ad/what have you, the message is getting out. Don't let up. :-)

Funny moment. I just received an IBM Software catalog (Fall) in the mail. It had the Blue boxing gloves on it. I quickly scanned the right margin of the cover and started grubbling "figures", I thought to myself, "no mention of Notes/Domino, or R7, damn IB...". I put the catalogue down. A few minutes later as I picked it up again and looked and "WOW!". Lotus Domino in the top spot of the right hand margin on the front cover. I guess I NEVER expected IBM to do that so subconsciouly looked past the first spot. Wierd eh? But more importantly. Bravo. Yippee. Well done.
