OK, OK, I'll admit it...the second clue was a red herring (though it was, in fact, a picture I took yesterday while on vacation).  I'll explain once the game is up....in the meantime, here is the third clue:

    Warm enough for you to be wearing shorts, at the beach - sand, flippers in the background, ridiculously tourist-looking drinks.... No loud shirt so probably not Hawaii, Still winter in most of US... Florida, Mexico, Caribbean..

    Puerto Rico.

    Widipedia says pineapples are native to Uruguay, Brazil, Puerto Rico, or Paraguay. I guess that the first picture with the Starbucks sign was meant to hint that you are still in US territory.
