Colin Williams has the right idea...

I shook his hand and introduced myself. I then explained that Notes has a 'new mail' button, a place to write some words and a 'send' button...much like any other email system. He shut up, left the department and we all cracked up!

A week later and now the guy is practically raving about Notes. He's particularly impressed (I believe the word "love" was used) with the little workspace replacement portal-thingy we call "Steel.NET" and the myriad of applications that run off of it. He goes on to say that our Lotus Notes intranet is better than anything he used at previous employers
This is a prime example of why the Lotusphere session "How to 'sell' Notes/Domino inside your organization" (which I'll do for LS07 with Julian Robichaux) is so important.  I realize that IT people don't like to think of themselves as being "salespeople" or "marketing"...that's the vendor's job, right?  In reality, if you advocate for your solutions within an organization, it can make all the difference for user acceptance.
