I'm now running the July 23rd pre-release build of Lotus Notes 8.  This build is the last one we're making available to managed beta customers and design partners.  From here on in, the daily builds are ready for production, should the quality and other metrics be met.

I am genuinely impressed at the hundreds of issues being fixed by the day in these new builds.  Some of those persistent later-stage beta complaints like the lack of navigation via the thumbnail calendar have been fixed.  The performance is, as has been said, even better than the June build I was last running.

One other thing I've noticed in this clean install -- the pre-populated RSS feeds have changed.  There's just one at the moment...

From what I understand, the idea is to publish information that is directly useful to end-users in this new feed.  It makes more sense than the beta feeds that pointed to this blog and others -- production builds should be focused on the end-user.  Thus, this new feed, coming soon.
