Does Quickr officially replace QuickPlace?
If so are their migration tools coming to migrate from QP to Quickr and/ or Portal?

Quickr 8.0 is the next version of Quickplace, no "migration" is required. Look for more in breakout ID308.

I see Zdnet are prefering to blog opinions rather than reporting the actual facts... :o(

Awesome - QuickPlace to Quickr. Can't happen soon enough. Folks around here have been making a lot of noise about Sharepoint, as we've been using it for a project. Doesn't seem that great to me, but you know how everyone loves a new toy.

There's a link there to a Notes 8 demo.

@5 - Interesting from a Marketing perspective that the "name change" was not mentioned, just somewhat implied.

@6 I didn't prioritize this because I felt that Mary Beth Raven had been blogging the improvements as they come. I can see if I can grab some from a presentation and get them posted.

@10 it's explicit in the breakout session.

Ed, is there going to be any way of seeing the keynote without attending in Second Life? That just seems a little less accessible than some other methods.

Quickr - well maybe???
"Lotus Quickr software integrates with Lotus Notes versions 7.X and 8.0, Microsoft Office 2000, XP, and 2003 and Microsoft Windows 2000, XP and 2003, removing the need for customers to upgrade significant parts of their desktop infrastructure to take advantage of Lotus Quickr functionality."
It takes all my time to defend Quickplace when it has such poor support for the Mac platform. Quickr sounds like just what we need ... but on Macs ... doesn't seem so ... again ... When will IBM get the message that creative industries (the sort who really need products like this) use Macs ......

I agree with #13. The H/W requirements can be a bit beyond some of us who aren't gaming nuts and don't spend 50% of the home PC budget on video cards that have more RAM than our previous PCs. Then there are the corprate F/W issues. How about a simple link to a video file? Are some of us just too old to appreciate Secondlife or is just that "multiple gernations in a single worksplace" issue? Maybe I'm just too stupid to figure out how to navigate the site?? (and maybe the fact that stuff won't be ther until Jan 23rd...) Lord knows I can't spell or type.
BTW, the Lotusphere Live ST site that Carl set up was wicked!!! Hope the rest of the sessions are as well covered. We definetly got some details that the crowds may have missed.

I will see what the story is on the OGS options outside of SecondLife. I am not sure hardware is a serious issue -- I have a laptop that is almost three years old and SL works perfectly fine. Firewalls? that's a serious concern.

Hi,
Cant see it anywhere in the initial releases but does Quickr (which sounds really cool) support Document Manager as a content repository?
Love the statement that Notes is IBM's strategic email platform. If nothing else came out from Lotusphere I could live with that announcement alone...
Really wish I was there so much cool stuff this year...
