Now available on lotus.com, a ten page paper highlighting the performance improvements in Domino 7.  NotesBench numbers as well as data from IBM's internal deployment of Domino 7 are included.

In general, performance/scalability is one of the key reasons to upgrade to Domino 7.  As you'll see in this paper, performance on the exact same hardware is increased anywhere from 50% to 400%, depending on operating system.  This is for an in-line, in-place upgrade -- no need to change a single aspect of the environment.  CPU utiliziation is reduced as well, typically 20% to 30%.  Very good investment protection in your existing server hardware, and good reasons for server consolidation.

Even if customers can't carry out server consolidations for whatever reason(s), then the improvements should increase the longevity of the hardware. It may even be that hardware thought unsuitable for Domino servers could how come back into play to host Domino on Linux. All adds up to a lower TCO. Spread the word.

    Yes,

I have always suspected Domino on Linux x86 was somehow sluggish... Now it looks like it's more on par with Windows. Performance was probably the only thing keeping people from migrating to Linux on x86. ..and support, of course.
