Lotus Symphony 3 beta 4 now available
August 27 2010
Yesterday, we posted Lotus Symphony 3 beta 4, what should be the last beta of the Symphony 3 cycle. You can download it from here.
Lotus Symphony 3 Beta 4 adds some exciting new enhancements. We've focused on performance. In addition we've enabled the support for adding additional spell check dictionaries into the product and added support for VML images.I haven't had a chance to download yet but I see a weekend opportunity ahead....
We've done some additional work around installation to support a silent installation option for Windows. We've added some enhancements to the user experience like remembering file paths when you insert objects and some enhancements to the import data functions.

Ed,
Ubuntu file still has "Hardy" in the file name.Ubuntu 8.04 (a.k.a. "Hardy") End Of Life date is April 2011.
Surely then, that's not the targeted Ubuntu release for Symphony 3?

Ed,
I wanted to have spelling and hyphenation dictionary in Mongolian language for Symphony. I tried to use .oxt file for OpenOffice Extension and couldn’t import it.
Do you have any thoughts? Or can you please forward internally to determine answer?
Thanks,
Jag

Ed, do you know if it will be possible to integrate the production release into existing Notes 8.5.x installations? We're considering maybe using the Notes/Symphony combination as a way to move away from MS Office as 90+% of our users don't need the extra functionality. In the past, if I remember correctly there hasn't been a way to update the embedded version of Symphony in a Notes client. This makes it difficult to deploy updated versions of Symphony to our Notes users.
Thanks!
