As I mentioned last week, those whose Lotusphere session proposals were not accepted -- along with those who have been thinking about participating -- are invited to submit proposals to audition for Lotusphere Idol! at Lotusphere 2010.  Lotusphere Idol! is one of several ways that the Lotusphere content team approaches identifying new speakers for the Lotusphere circuit -- and certainly one of the most fun.

Here's how it works -- each contestant has five minutes to deliver a presentation, either a subset of a full presentation or an abstract, demonstrating their knowledge and ability.  Judges from the Lotusphere content team rate each contestant, and at the conclusion of the session, the best speaker is awarded Lotusphere Idol!  Their reward is their own breakout session at Lotusphere, later in the same week.  It's a great way to get exposure and ultimately to build your speaker credentials for future opportunities.  Plus, it's a heck of a lot of fun -- we always have a few surprises during Lotusphere Idol!

If you didn't already submit a Lotusphere Idol! proposal during the original call for abstracts, you can now propose an Idol! audition via email.  Send your submissions to
submit at lotusphereidol.com
by December 24th -- yes, we're giving you almost a month!  In your email, give your name, company name, email address, mobile phone number, and a 50-75 word abstract of what you'd like to present.  You should also include 50-75 words about yourself and why you'd like to be Lotusphere Idol!

Judges will select and notify contestants before December 31, giving you a few weeks to plan your presentation (much more than the 24 hour notice that the first Idol! contestants got in 2008!).  Looking forward to crowning our next winner!
