Interesting -- like Google Desktop and X1, Microsoft has now extended their desktop search tool to support indexing Lotus Notes e-mail.  Somehow I missed the press release on this :-) (Thanks, Mathias)

Since a couple of weeks I kicked-off Google Desktop Search and replaced it with X1. I love it !!!

Let's see what MSFT comes up with..

You're welcome... I installed it and it seems to work ok! Must wait a couple of days to see if it behaves... My first impression is that it is nicer than Google desktop...

That is interesting, I could not get it to work worth a poot. Maybe it is because I am using Notes 7. It apparently works with Notes 6 at the moment.

I wonder if it's as accurate as RedBull? hehe

Haven't looked at it, but is it really new? Wasn't Sharepoint Server already able to search Domino DBs? Okay, perhaps for the local DT its new, but is their technology itself new?

Shouldn't Microsoft be concentrating on improving the searching in their own tools (e.g. Outlook)?

Well this makes for a nice interesting little anti-FUD factoid. The next time someone from MS claims that "no one uses Notes anymore" or something similar, you can ask, if that's true, why waste any resources on enabling search for it?

@8 Jerry, I suspect this is why the support was added with little fanfare.

@8 - because Google have done it? Mind you, Google Desktop works with Notes 7.

If you want some more anti-FUD, one of the Lotus Business Partners today told me they're working on 17 (yep, 17) Exchange to Domino migration projects.

It works for me and I have Notes 7. I did install the latest Beta of Desktop Search though...

When I add LN indexing to my Windows Desktop Search (2.6.xxx) it won't index any more. (LN 6.5). Any suggestions?

What I find strange is that it doesn't ask me for my LN password.

I'm using Notes 6.5 and I've pointed this plug-in to my .nsf file but Windows Desktop Search 2.6.5 won't index it. Suggestions?

Does the latest Windows Desktop Search v.4.0 support Lotus Notes?

    I have Notes 6.5.3 w/WinXPSP2.
