It is darn near impossible to get used to the absent feeling of not having a cell phone this week.  Forget the Blackberry for a second, just not being able to say "call me" or "send me a text" feels unbelievably weird.  

I know I could rent a phone and that there's some way I could even use my own SIM in it, but I'm going see if I can remember what 100 hours on the ground without instant communication is really like.

I suspect I'll be on Skype a lot, so say "o-genki-des-ka" if you'd like.... in the meantime, I'm heading out for my two hours of shopping time this week.  The five-year-old apparently said something about taking a picture of "Hello, Kitty" if I see her walking around the streets of Tokyo...
