Notes/Domino 7.0.1 update

December 19 2005

For those curious about the timing for Notes/Domino 7.0.1, the current schedule is for this to be a February, 2006, update.  As always with maintenance releases, the date could change based on many different factors.  But if your organization has a "no .0" policy, you can start to think about deploying Notes/Domino 7 during Q1 2006.

Related, the Notes/Domino 7 fix list is now available on developerWorks.  (Thanks to Gerco for alerting me on this!)

7.0.1 is available as a beta on Partnerworld.

I won't go into details, but I think they're being a bit modest about the fix list. I know of some things fixed in the client that aren't on that list.

That list is not complete ... fixes do not go up on the site until after the fix goes thru QA ... so that list will grow pretty fast over the next couple of weeks.

It's actually not so much the QA, but also the 'sanitization' of the fix descriptions. Things turn from "fixed invalid null pointer in xyz.cpp" to "Fixed a crash with feature abc". etc.

That takes up plenty of time, too (but is what makes the fixlist actually usable for external consumption).

Does anybody know when Notes 7 for MAC will be released?

@5 current plan is still 7.0.2 release, sometime in 2006.

Microsoft Windows vulnerability puts Lotus Notes Client at risk.

Ed have a look at this...
