One week to AusLUG

March 20 2012

The second Australian Lotus User Group is only a week away. How time flies.

The event is shaping up to be pretty incredible. Registration is already over 300 delegates, which would make this year's AusLUG among the biggest such events anywhere in the world. This year's event in Melbourne features nearly a dozen international speakers, including six IBM Champions. The XPages seminar and Domino deep dive tack-it-on events add an additional level of technical depth to the event.

I'll be part of two sessions at AusLUG. The keynote will feature my colleague Ted Stanton and I talking about the importance of becoming a social business. We'll have some demos and interaction, along with a customer story or two. I'll also team up with some of my local colleagues to give an updated version of my Lotusphere Messaging and Collaboration Strategy session. Of course, I'll be around for formal and informal meetings, discussions, ideas, and the usual Aussie fun.

Unfortunately the trip to Oz next week means I missed the chance to go to BLUG in Antwerp this week. My colleague John Beck is representing the Notes/Domino family there, along with keynote speaker Chris Crummey and several other IBMers. Amazingly, sixteen of the IBM Champions are speaking at this event!

Beyond this week's LUGs, I am already starting to see several on the calendar in Q2 - the Danish in May, the Deutsche (German) Notes User Group in June, the Italian DominoPoint event, also in June. I'm probably missing a few (happy to add them)!

Meanwhile, I'm looking forward to Melbourne next week - the ten day forecast looks awesome!
