Groupwise customer migrates to Notes/Domino....
After a lengthy 10-month selection process, Plymouth Tube's committee unanimously selected IBM's Lotus Domino platform in spite of the company's Microsoft roots. "We selected the Lotus Domino solution primarily because we needed more than just e-mail and calendaring and its security, reliability and scalability are first-class," said Foust. "Also, Integrasys did an exceptional job of showing us how the solution would address each of our business needs, all from one standard, simplified e-mail infrastructure."Reasons cited for choosing Notes/Domino: Security, reliability, "solid infrastructure", calendaring, document sharing.

I never realised there was even an underground in Plymouth.

David, thanks for your comment. It's hard enough convincing 2 people about one idea! The Plymouth committee for this decision consisted of 30 people from cross sections of the company. You can imagine why the process was long and thorough. But all the more, this lends even greater credibility to their decision.

Integrasis did a great job helping Plymouth Tube select Notes Domino over other competing products. We further engaged them to design the proposed Domino network and develop a detailed RFQ.
Plymouth Tube then selected PSC, Schaumburg, IL, to implement the solution. The migration, which took place over 8 weeks and across 7 geographic locations, could not have gone smoother. I personally accompanied the PSC consultants to each site; they are top-notch.
Hats off to both vendors for helping us select and implement Domino, and to IBM for providing a superior product. The organization has been on Notes Domino for approximately 2 months now. Our experience so far has been extremely positive.

I'm a PSC consultant and I actually did the implementation, conversion and training for Plymouth Tube. The best part about it was the look in user's eyes as I showed them the new features available in Notes. I kept the training sessions fairly high level, but even some basic functionality was enough to wow many of the users. We talk about improving the Notes interface... let's just say, be glad you don't work with Groupwise...
Some of the biggest skeptics were also some of the highest ranking people. Even after the decision was made there were many holdouts. One of them in particular, wasn't a convert until I showed her how to copy an email into a To Do. I knew she was a big fish so I was watching for her reaction. It made her an instant believer, she saw how it made her instantly more productive.
When my boss gave me this project I joked about it being a trip to nowhere; they have plants in a couple of fairly remote locations. But I did get a few things out of it: 1) The best BBQ is sold from run down shacks - except in Starkville, MS -- and 2) A renewed enthusiasm for Notes and it's capabilities.

Awesome. Too bad it takes so long (10 months) to discover the truth .... :-)
