I'm not sure I know anyone at Resemble Systems, an Indian and Saudi Arabian business partner, but I like their marketing department.

In my inbox this morning was an email from Resemble Systems promoting the public beta of IBM Notes and Domino 9.0 Social Edition:

Of course, marketing IBM's product is primarily IBM's responsibility. Thousands of companies around the world have downloaded the public beta of Notes/Domino 9.0 Social Edition - more than 10,000 non-IBMer downloads in the first 72 hours alone. Yet this business partner has taken the simple extra step of making sure their customers are aware of the beta, whether the customer has heard from IBM or not. Thanks to Rafsad Vazhayil for this simple extra effort!

Because they included a link to my blog? No, they didn't ask me about that in advance. And as I said, I don't recall ever having contact with this partner.

Dear Ed, Thank you so much for this blog. We are really overwhelmed. Being a passionate IBM BP, we are responsible for transforming the excitement to our valued customers.

Perhaps the most embarrassing thing is that, we, as company, did not receive any news from IBM itself about it.

(Of course we knew it, following Ed's blog)

@5 I'm surprised by this. We have mailed almost every mailing list we have to communicate about the new beta. Is it possible that you always have "opted out" when registering on ibm.com for downloads and programs? I think that is the only way I could imagine not hearing from us. Now, I will probably open floodgates with a comment like that, but I am genuinely curious.
