So much Lotusphere follow-up...
January 29 2007
...that one might even call it a Lotusphere hangover.
Today's FAQ is "where are the presentations?" I don't yet know of a plan to post all presentations, externally or internally. Some can't be posted without permission -- non-IBM speakers, for example. For those who attended the conference, PDFs of most sessions are still on Lotusphere Online. Internally, I believe a process is underway to make some of the presentations available, especially for upcoming Lotusphere Comes to You events (which I need to get a list of and post...so far, only the Australia / New Zealand ones appear on ibm.com). And there are plans to podcast about 40 of the sessions on IBM developerWorks.
Update: Lotusphere Comes to You dates are all on the LCTY site.
The "How to 'sell' Notes/Domino inside your organization" session -- ID212 -- is posted as a PDF shortly (thanks, Julian!).
Rocky Oliver has started a thread on his blog asking for conference feedback. Obviously we will read all the conference evaluations as well, but Rock is looking for the more informal feedback that is top of mind after the weekend.
I'm just starting to read the latest blogs and news articles, and I'm sure there will be plenty more links to come in the next few days
One more update: LotusUserGroup.org is still running their photo contest for LS07. Uploads being taken all week and then voting begins on the best Lotusphere photo. Maybe there's a way to tie that into the over 2000 Lotusphere pics on Flickr...

Presentations for Lotusphere 2006 and 2005 were posted in the Sandbox. I never even considered the same wouldn't be done for 2007.

@2 that doesn't always cover all the presentations.... but again, we'll see what ends up happening. I just haven't even had a chance to ask the right people yet.

Ed - all us speakers had to fax in a single page form+signature handing over all rights to the presentations to IBM.. As it was new (as far as I can recollect) for this year, I guess its up to IBM.. ?
Some comments on the lotusphere online forum about missing presentations too. Would be good to get the team to nail that this week before they break the site down ?
Cheers, and thanks again. It was a blast...!

Thanks Ed ;)
I was one off the people asking you for the presentations......
4 people of my company went, but were on the showcase so didn't attend to many sessions

If I can go download in zip as we did last year, that worked out great.
In the past the site was up for two weeks past the conference, so I hope that remains the same this year.
Kevin.

I thought there was a zip or something last year. Having that again this year would be AWESOME. :)

Given the costs of attending what is essentially a marketing event, I'm surprised attendees aren't given a CD or USB drive with all the presentations on.
Alternatively, maybe the community could put them on a Bit Torrent tracker to save somebody having to handle all the bandwidth requirements?

p.s. Nice to see a mention of LotusUserGroup.org - they've been a but quiet since Libby left.

@4: That form is not new. It's been part of the speaker deal every year that I can remember.

I already had the torrent idea, and I'm honestly surprised IBM doesn't do more with that technology. Not that I'm complaining, I get 20 mbit downloads from Passport Advantage. :-D I'll work on getting all the presentations consolidated and see what I can do.
Ben Langhinrichs has also offered to host these in his sessions database, which I think is a cool idea. I'll keep an eye on his blog and see what kind of progress he makes with that.

As much as I want access to every session slidedeck and demo database, any distribution of the slides (besides the author) by anyone that is not IBM has always gotten a big smackdown ... I would be careful there Charles ...

That is the good thing about BitTorrent. IBM would not really know whom to smack.

That's why I said I'd wait to see what kind of response Ben gets. :) My intentions are good, I'm not just going out of my way to tweak Lotus' nose.

here is another technique which hopefully won't get me a big smackdown:

@16 - Shame I wasn't registered for LS2007, they'd be available on torrent already ;O)

Ed, some of the UK events are up as well... { Link }
