As I've mentioned previously, Lotus and partners will be running a series of Lotus Collaboration Summit events during the second half of 2007.  The media and product launch event will be September 18.  Customer/partner events will be both before and after that date, so someone will win product roulette and have an event on or about the Notes/Domino 8 release date in August (Yes, I know that earlier this week I couldn't say this...things change).

You can find a list of the event cities and dates on the Lotus Collaboration Summit pages.  As has been the case for earlier event date/location announcements, not all countries and/or cities have been announced yet.  Don't say "what, no Bozeman?"  Say "how can we get an event to Bozeman".

    Ed,

What does "Media Event Only" mean?

September 18 New York City - Media Event Only

  1. 7  Peter Smith  |

@6 it means only CDs,DVDs and floppy disks can attend :-)

    @3 & 4 - IBM's still a software vendor, right? Therefore, when referring to release dates, "August" typically = 8/31, 11:59 pm....

@6 it means that when you hear an IBMer refer to the launch event on September 18, that event focused on the media as opposed to one of the other open-to-all events. I'm not even sure I'm invited to the event on the 18th :-)

That's OK Ed you're still welcome to one on the 10th :-)))

Oh great! My bet is it comes out while I'm on holiday.... :-(

    Still, I DO want a holiday! ;-)

Looks like the EMEA and Asia have their act together more than the U.S. with dates already listed... LOL

@12 I suspect this is a function of planning ahead because of all the vacations/holidays that Europeans taken in July/August...get the dates committed in advance of going away.

Great news for the next LUG meeting!

But that will presdate the announcemtn by a few weeks.

What can I do now to get the show to Miami/South Florida?

If you have access to the connections for BP please look at this for my thoughts on how to promote R8 when it hits.

I see no events scheduled for UK ?

  1. 17  Ed Brill http://www.edbrill.com |

@16 just "not yet". I believe in the past the UK has been covered for similar events by a mix of partner-led and IBM-led events. Stay tuned. (Same for US and several other countries)

@14 and Ed, I second that. We are starved for IBM/Lotus related events here in South Florida. I sometimes feel like we are south of the border. If is weren't for Lotusphere in Orlando, we wouldn't see anybody IMHO.

  1. 19  Ed Brill http://www.edbrill.com |

@18 do you know about the user group that Keith (@15) has started up? I believe Lotus is sponsoring the next meeting on June 19.

  1. 20  Todd Carpenter http://www.embraer.com |

Yes Ed, I have already RSVP'd. Thanks for the info and I appreciate all you do for us. It's just my observation that we don't seem to get the dates that other cities do.
