This is a great video showing several of the hottest OpenNTF.org projects for Lotus Notes and what their end-user benefits will be:

File navigator, status updater, and XTalk discussion forums are shown.  Niklas Heidloff demonstrates the actual end-user experience for each, in this short video that shows exactly what Notes is capable of.  Nathan should be happy :-)

A few weeks ago I was asked, what can *you* do to help get the word out about Notes.  We had some videos like this submitted for the Lotus Knows website last year.  I would happily take more or be happy to see more on YouTube -- these kinds of videos do exactly the right thing in highlighting how end-users can be more productive with Notes.

    Yes. Yes I am. :)

Speaking of highlighting how users can be more productive with Notes, have you seen our new site, TipsInTwo.com? It features videos (also posted on You Tube) that trains regular folks on how to use Lotus software, including Notes, Quickr, Connections and (coming soon) Sametime.

Ed - My Notes in 9 (notesin9.com) videos are on youtube as well. I've not done many for the End User YET, but the one show I did for the End User on 8.5.1 is my top viewed show last I looked. I do have some End user shows in the queue.

Oh, it's OK for OpenNTF.org to do that. It's just not SOP for the actual .software vendor. to do that. Especially in (gasp) ads or marketing material.

And, yes, I get that Mr. Heidloff is an IBM employee. However, that video (excellent, btw) is a training video, non-IBM branded.

The issue that many folks have (including Mr. Freeman, if I undersand him correctly), is that IBM declines to actually show it's software in practical use in it's ads & marketing.

@5 - You are correct, sir. This video will likely be incredibly popular... within the Yellow Bubble. Hopefully it will break out due to BP efforts.

Though there's an inkling of product on the Lotus Knows website, if you hunt around the videos. Let's hope more customer-facing product examples make their way out there.

The "what can we do?" question was @29 of your Feb 16 blog. ("what else can we, your readers, do to help you extend your message to the people who need to hear it - those who are not yet Lotus customers?")

These videos are a great idea in that the message is not just coming from IBM. It's coming from the user community. The principle of social proof is most powerful when they are observing the behavior of people just like themselves.

So the next question is how do you get decision-makers and end users who don't already use Notes to view those videos (and in the right context, i.e. thinking about work) once they are made?
