This morning, IBM is announcing the results of the most recent IDC market share report in the enterprise social software market and it's a three-peat! IBM again leads this fast-growing market segment and is growing faster than both the market and the nearest competitor.

According to IDC, the enterprise social software market grew nearly 40 percent between 2010-2011 and is expected to reach $4.5 billion by 2016. Our own research at IBM bears this out: IBM's 2012 CEO Study of 1,700 CEO's reveals that while only 16% of CEOs are using social business platforms to connect with customers, that number is poised to spike to 57% within the next three to five years.  

IBM Connections has been adopted by 35% of the Fortune 100 including eight of the top ten retailers and banks. The IDC report confirms that IBM is not just practicing what we preach, but our clients are realizing significant value from partnering with IBM to help their organizations connect, grow, and innovate.
